Are you using the correct tools and procedure?

Did you know expansion of the anchor must be conducted using the corresponding setting tool? If another tool is used to expand the anchor, then ETA Approval is not valid

Before installation

Before any installation do you have your correct PPE for the task? For example: gloves, googles and hard hat. Is the correct anchor being installed as specified?

Next, do you have the right installation accessories?

These are specified on the outside of the packaging for the anchor.

  • The manual or machine setting tool for the anchor.
    • For the manual setting tool, you will need a club hammer.
    • For the machine setting tool, a SDS drill with hammer-only action.
  • Blow out pump & correct size brush to clear the hole .
  • Correct size SDS Drill bit with the PGM quality mark.
  • Torque Wrench for the installation torque shown on the box.

Drilling the Hole

Make sure your drill bit is the size specified on the box and has the PGM mark for quality assurance. Double check the bit is not worn.

As the fischer EA II Hammerset Anchor is an expansion fixing, you must comply with the minimum edge distances specified in the approval.

The drill hole diameter and depth is specified on the packaging for the anchor.

Cleaning the hole

Blow and brush dust and debris from the hole using fischer cleaning brush and blow out pump.

Installing the fixing

Insert the EA II Hammerset Anchor into the hole.

Setting the fixing

To set the fixing you will need to use either the correct manual setting tool with a club hammer or the correct machine setting tool in conjunction with a SDS drill set to hammer only action.

Checking the fixing

When using the manual setting tool, you will know when the EA II Hammerset Anchor is set correctly by the marking on the rim of the anchor becoming visible – the witness mark. Please note, the witness marks will not appear when using the machine setting tool

Connecting to the fixing

When the fixing is set correctly you can either connect your drop rod or bolt. With the drop road observe the minimum and maximum insertion depths. If you are connecting a fixture using a bolt, make sure you apply the correct installation torque as specified on the packaging for the anchor.
